That’s far better than I thought it would be
I’d like to see the song played on the drums for real in comparison to the way its played in rock band.

i’m not sure as to the point of this. hasn’t anyone seen a drummer actually play the drums before “rock band” came out? heh.

This is really stupid. Its very easy to play on drums(even for begginers) and he gets out of time a lot.

The point is that you could play the drum track from the game with a real drum kit unlike the guitar.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
lol. you obviously have’nt played very much. the easiest is the guitar xD. i know that and im better at drums. i think its funny that theyre almost exactly the same tho. and he doesnt really get off tempo.

It’s kind of neat. I always thought if you played what rock band said to on real drums it would sound awful. I guess I was wrong..

just stick to rock band.
leave the real instruments to the real musicians.

@unsure: No, no one has ever seen anyone play the drums before, ever. The point is in the description, try reading.
@linde: If you think it’s stupid, don’t comment. Nobody cares what you think.
I thought it was interesting to see how the notes line up in rock band.

Of course people have seen a drummer play before. Are you really that thick? The point is to show Rock Band’s take of a drum part and play it on a real set of drums to see if it fits well at all.

I didn’t think it would work as well as it did, and it seems to me that people are thinking hes just playing the drums as the song goes but he is doing exactly as the rock band game tell him except on a real drum set.

This video is stupid. if you watch the game board part, you’ll notice that the buttons aren’t even being hit. This is just a video of the game board cropped into a video of a guy playing the drums for it for that song…nothing more.

This kid is O.K. at drums, ive been in bands with far better drummers though, who werent amazing or anything, theres so many times he get out of tempo. And weezer is nothing special for drums, its not like they have crazy time signatures, or anything like that….its basic stuff.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
ha!! I like the idea aw

Eh, Im a drummer and I thought this was cool… He’s pretty decent to keep up with reading the music and playing along. I was playing along on my desk and missed quite a few of the bass hits and even a few cymbal crashes… Maybe if I saw it a few times it’d be easier… Even still, rock on.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
seems to me that the point is the that the game has actually taught the kid to play the drums. I don’t know that I could pick up the drums and play as well as this kid, so not anyone could do it.

Yeah, it’s much more fun to play the real drums, and I’ll admit, I’ve used rock band to learn beats for some certain songs, but its nothing special. also: Your drums are tuned too high, especially the floor tom, and get some actual symbols, instead of whatever came with your kit, unless you bought some, then you just got ripped off. a good sized crash is about 22″ and a good ride is usually around 26″.

Wow, Linde, you’re a cunt.
Nice to see the comparison.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
What the hell is wrong with you people? Anyone who thought this was worth watching obviously doesn’t know a damned thing about playing the drums. It’s Weezer for fucks sake all the guy plays is simple rock beats. And like the guy before me said, that drum kit sounds like shit.
September 10th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
I bet you’re fun at parties.

Linde
Its not about how good he is or how difficult the song is.
It about the fact that he played something that sounded pretty close to actual music by following along with a video game.
previous entries were correct you are a cunt.

ITS NOT ABOUT BEING A GOOD DRUMMER
fucking idiots.
hes hitting the same drums on REAL drums that you would on FAKE drums in rock band. the point of the video is to see if it sounds anything remotely similar. I don’t know how that can get be any more clear.
“I’m a drummer and this isnt worth watching because I can play the drums better” congratulations but its not about being good, its about lining the same drums hit as in the game to see what it sounds like.
And Krispy, you’re extra retarded. of course the buttons arent being hit. HES HITTING REAL DRUMS. instead of hitting the PLASTIC heads though hes hitting REAL ones in their place, to demonstrate what the game version would actually SOUND LIKE.

To the kid who made the vid so as not to spoil his pride: Awesome, cool idea expertly executed.
To fellow RL drummers around the world: Doesn’t structured drumming suck? So miserably boring… even worse so to watch it…
September 13th, 2008 at 11:19 am
Yeah, now let’s see him play some Rush or Tool…
September 14th, 2008 at 2:21 am
@ nobody: “I thought it was interesting to see how the notes line up in rock band.”
that’s kinda the point…
and he does drop/speed up the tempo
@ Andrew: “and get some actual symbols, instead of whatever came with your kit, unless you bought some, then you just got ripped off. a good sized crash is about 22″ and a good ride is usually around 26″.
they’re called “cymbals”. a good crash is about 16″ to 18″, and a good ride goes from 20″ to 22″. i firmly believe you know absolutely nothing.
September 14th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Expert mode? really? I could play these kinds of beats when I just started on the drums.
September 14th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
watch him play run to the hills…its pretty fuckin good…and to anyone who thinks playing drums are easy to play…try playing some led zep, good times bad times. the double kicks are insane. dude you rock keep playing!
September 18th, 2008 at 10:38 am
Why are some people under the impression that this video is about the kid playing drums. It is about how well the Rock Band note charts match up to the real song. He plays the rock band note charts on a real drum kit to find out. And as you can see from the video it comes out pretty close.
No one said he was great at drums and no one is saying Weezer rule.
