Janie Hendrix of the Hendrix estate recently told Rolling Stone that master tracks for several Jimi Hendrix songs including “Foxy Lady” have been delivered to Activision, and an official Jimi Hendrix avatar approved for use in an upcoming Guitar Hero game, most likely Guitar Hero World Tour.

Janie told Rolling Stone:

“Guitar Hero really was on the ball and and they were biting at the bit to get this out this year, so, we just accommodated them [...] Jimi was a kid at heart — he definitely would have played these games.”

Other songs in Activision’s hands include “Purple Haze” and “Little Wing” however it’s unclear which will be used.
